We need to stop looking to be admired by others. We need to stop seeking for attention from others. If others perceive us as being a loser, we are content.

Pride takes offence.

What causes us to take offence when others have low thoughts of us? Or, when others think of us as being nothing but a loser? The answer is Pride. Pride makes us take offense. Because pride causes us to have high thoughts of ourselves. Pride exalt us in our own eyes. We perceive ourselves through the lens of pride as being powerful, strong, better than others, self-sufficient & extraordinary, which is craziness!

Because, according to the Bible we are nothing more than rebellious, wretched sinners who deserved the justice of God. We are weak, fragile humans beings, who very life are dependent on God’s mercy. According to the Bible, we are utterly nothing and Christ is everything!

Humility makes us okay with being perceived as a loser.

Because, we are already losers in our own eyes when we are humble. Whatever low thoughts others have of us, we have even lower thoughts of ourselves.

God dealt with us greatly & show us who we really are. That we are sinful, foolish, weak human beings who life are dependent on God & God alone.

We awe at God’s mercies in our lives because we are aware that we don’t deserve it. Even the simple mercies: breath in our lungs, daily meals, clothes, shelter.

We see ourselves as the chief of sinners just like Paul. Just like Paul, we view our lives as nothing. We focus not on our selves but on God & His will. We are dead to self and alive in God. We only concern about accomplishing God’s will in this life while we long to be with Him when we died.

Therefore, whatever low thoughts others have of us, it doesn’t affect us because we are already dead to self. “Who is me anyways? Yes, I am a loser. Yes, I am weak. Yes, I am a wretched sinner.” The humbled saint says. And whatever others think or say to him don’t concern him much. He is concerned more of others’ spiritual & physical welfare and accomplishing God’s will.

Live a quiet life.

We seek not fame, glory & honor. We live quietly, peacefully, focusing to glorify God & not self. When people sees us, they don’t see much. We live a simple life: not indulging in luxury or any worldly things.

While the world seeks much worldly possessions, fame & glory, we seek to do the will of the Father & the Father’s glory without seeking any glory of our own.
